What to Know Before You Reach Out
Is the initial consultation really free?
Yes. The initial design consultation is completely free and there is no obligation to move forward. We visit your home, walk through the space with you, and have an honest conversation about what is realistic for your budget and timeline. Most consultations take about one hour.
What is the minimum project size Barden takes on?
Barden’s projects typically start at $75,000. Our design-build process is structured for comprehensive remodels where we are managing the full scope. Smaller repairs or single-trade projects are not a fit for how we work.
How does the fixed contract price work?
The fixed contract price is set after the complete design is finished and every subcontractor has priced their scope. The number you sign is based on actual bids, not rough estimates. The only additions to the contract price are owner-requested changes, which are priced and approved before any work proceeds.
Do I need a design in mind before reaching out?
No. Most homeowners come to us with a general sense of what they want to change and a budget range in mind. Our in-house design team guides every material selection, layout decision, and finish choice. You do not need drawings or a fully formed vision to start the conversation.
How soon can a project start?
Timeline depends on our current project schedule and the complexity of your project. Design typically takes 4 to 6 weeks before construction can begin. We will give you a realistic timeline during your free consultation based on where we are and what your project involves.
