WHAT TO EXPECT
A bathroom remodel touches more systems than most homeowners expect. Behind the tile and fixtures are plumbing rough-ins, waterproofing membranes, electrical circuits, ventilation, and structural blocking — all of which have to be planned and coordinated before a single finish material goes in. In Flagstaff, moisture management is especially important. At 7,000 feet the freeze-thaw cycle is hard on grout, caulk, and any waterproofing that was not done correctly the first time.
Barden approaches every bathroom remodel as a design-build project. Your in-house designer works through every finish decision before the fixed contract price is set, and one project manager coordinates all trades from demolition through the final walkthrough. Nothing is handed off between separate designers and contractors.
Bathroom remodels in Flagstaff through Barden typically run 2.5 to 4 months from first consultation to completion. That includes 3 to 5 weeks of design and 6 to 10 weeks of active construction depending on the scope and whether plumbing or electrical relocation is involved.

SCOPE OF WORK
Every bathroom remodel is different, but here is what most Flagstaff projects include from our team:
Every remodel starts with a clean slate. Barden demolishes the existing finishes down to the substrate, inspects for moisture damage or structural issues, and installs a proper waterproofing system before any new tile or finish work begins. In Flagstaff’s climate, this step is where the longevity of the remodel is determined.
Fixture replacement, drain relocation, shower valve upgrades, freestanding tub rough-in, and any reconfiguration of supply or drain lines are scoped and priced during the design phase. All plumbing work is performed by licensed subcontractors and included in the fixed contract price.
Floor tile, shower surrounds, feature walls, and niche installations are all specified during the design phase through Elevation Design Center. Barden’s tile setters work to the layout approved in design, so the finished result matches exactly what you selected.
Custom vanities, floating vanities, linen towers, and built-in storage are all available through our in-house design team. Cabinet selections, hardware, and countertop material are finalized during design before any orders are placed.
Recessed lighting, vanity lighting, exhaust fan upgrades, and any GFCI or circuit work required by code are scoped and priced before the fixed contract is set. Lighting placement is determined during the design phase so rough-in locations are correct before walls are closed.
Shower systems, faucets, towel bars, toilet, mirrors, and all finish hardware are selected during the design phase and included in the fixed contract price. Barden works with a curated selection of vendors through our design team to ensure lead times are confirmed before construction begins.
Investment
Bathroom remodels in Flagstaff through Barden typically start at $40,000 for a straightforward single bathroom update. More comprehensive remodels involving full plumbing relocation, custom tile work, freestanding tubs, or multi-bathroom scope typically run between $60,000 and $150,000 depending on the size of the bathroom, fixture selections, and the extent of any structural or plumbing changes.
Before design begins, we establish a general investment range based on your goals and what we see in the space. Every finish selection, plumbing scope, and subcontractor cost is resolved during the design phase so that by the time we go out for bids, the number lands where we said it would.
The fixed contract price is set only after the complete design is finished and every subcontractor has submitted their bids. The number you sign reflects actual bids on a fully designed project. Across all recently completed bathroom remodel projects, cost variances above the fixed contract price reflect owner-requested scope additions made during construction.

EXCELLENT Based on 109 reviews Posted on Mike CunninghamTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My experience with Barden Home Builders is from the standpoint of one of their trade sub-contractors. Every job is clean, well organized, and ready for us to do our work. Their jobsites are well managed. I cannot overstate how important that is to help us do a good job for the homeowner.Posted on Jacob LesandriniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We bought in 2023, and we love our house, but it only had one bathroom and we are four humans (and two dogs). In addition to this, the bedroom was always disproportionately larger with respect to the house as a whole. We were not sure what we wanted to do, but we started to do some research and poking around. We were lucky enough to find Barden Home Builders. From start to finish, we always understood what was happening. When we had questions, it was super easy to reach out - it didn't matter what questions we had. What we appreciated the most was how Barden asked us what our budget was - the specific dollar amount - and they then designed our project to meet our needs and be on budget. They met the budget and also the time-line. We love the new bathroom and walk-in closet that connects to our bedroom. It's hard to remember what it was like before - two bathrooms have reduced the overall conflict in our house! Beyond this, everyone who came into our house or did work on our property was kind and respectful. We got to know several folks pretty well, and our kids and dogs have definitely missed Barden since they finished up. The next time we have a project that is beyond our reach, Barden is our first call. Our kids/dogs miss them! And I know it will be quality work.Posted on Amy MaisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Barden Home Builders completed an extensive exterior restoration and renovation of our home outside of Flagstaff, Arizona. The project included replacing and installing new siding, new stucco, as well as painting and staining the exterior walls. Extensive work was also required on a large three car garage and detached shed. We also replaced and added a new gutter system better designed to keep water off the fascia and a new roof. From beginning to end, the Barden team was a class act. Every single detail was covered and implemented in a very timely fashion. The communication was outstanding. The completed project exceeded our expectations. We would give Barden our highest recommendation.Posted on Jesse CollierTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
